Why independents are different

Branded properties inherit a starting position from the franchisor. Independent properties inherit nothing — no rate-strategy framework, no CRS integration default, no reporting layer, no default comp set. The two-week onboarding audit is meaningfully heavier for an independent because the entire operating system is built from the ground up.

Do you handle pre-opening for new-build independents?

Yes. Pre-opening engagements are typically six months — covering the year-one budget build, the rate-strategy starting position, the comp-set selection, and the first 90 days of post-opening operation.

What about soft-branded properties (Curio, Tapestry, Autograph, Ascend, Premier Collection, etc.)?

Soft-branded properties function operationally somewhere between branded and independent. We treat them as independents for strategy purposes but engage with the soft-brand tools and reporting layer where they exist.

Do you serve very small independents (under 30 rooms)?

Yes, with a defined scope reduction. Sub-30-room independents typically engage at Premier with a focused scope rather than full Signature.
